Ivanti Avalanche, the Wavelink classic that ran warehouse fleets for decades, reached end of life on September 30, 2025: no more updates, no more support. Ivanti points customers to a general-purpose cloud UEM. If your fleet is rugged Android, DockMDM is the focused replacement.
// THE SITUATION, PLAINLY
Avalanche earned its place: decades of warehouse pedigree, proven stability, and coverage reaching back to Windows CE. That pedigree is exactly why its retirement hurts, and running an unsupported, unpatched MDM server is a risk that grows every month.
DockMDM replaces the rugged Android side: QR re-enrollment, silent app deployment, kiosk mode, telemetry, and native Zebra MX. It does not manage Windows CE or Windows Mobile devices. If you still run those, they need a separate plan.

| DockMDM | Ivanti Avalanche | |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Active and in development | End of life September 30, 2025; no updates or support |
| Migration path | Built for rugged Android fleets | Ivanti steers customers to Neurons for MDM, a general-purpose cloud UEM |
| Getting started | Self-serve, free for 3 devices, no card | Sales-led; no public pricing, subscription licensing |
| Platforms | Android only, rugged-first | Android plus legacy Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Windows Embedded |
| Zebra configuration | Native MX from plain language, schema-validated, applied natively on-device | On-device enabler agents for Zebra, Honeywell, Datalogic, Panasonic |
| AI | AI-native: built-in MCP server, any AI agent operates the fleet | None; product retired before shipping AI features |
| Remote screen control | Yes: live view and control from the device page | Yes, and reviewers praised it |
| Deployment | Cloud, hosted in Germany, maintained for you | On-premises Windows server you now maintain without vendor support |
You're standardizing on the wider Ivanti ecosystem and Neurons for MDM. You still depend on Windows CE or Windows Mobile devices. Your workflows center on Ivanti Velocity terminal emulation with bundled licensing.
